WESCA Wildlife Network
WESCA is a non-profit organization which was established in 2006. WESCA is a network of local and international specialists who work on the field of wildlife health and conservation. The main geographical target areas are West & Central Asia and Caucasus, but not restricted to this region. WESCA works via collaboration with many local and international organizations to promote wildlife health, conservation and research in this region.
WESCA acts also as the regional network of IUCN – Wildlife Health Specialist Group (WHSG) for West & Central Asian Countries.
Wildlife Conservation
The main goal of WESCA is conservation of wildlife in West & Central Asia and Caucasus. A part of WESCA members are also members of WHSG and effectively respond to local issues related to wildlife health to support and promote wildlife conservation.
Main areas of activity
– Wildlife Conservation with focus on Health Surveillance/Monitoring, Research, Reporting, and Collaboration
– Epidemiology, ecology and management of wildlife diseases
– Wildlife disease diagnosis, virology, bacteriology pathology, toxicology
– Human – Wildlife zoonotic diseases (Wildlife transmitted pathogens)
Regional and International collaboration
WESCA is highly motivated to establish and promote regional and international collaboration among all WESCA stakeholders, members, collaborators and partners.
WESCA Partners
WESCA partners are international or national organizations and institutes which collaborate with WESCA on different projects, participate in research projects or help WESCA for training local specialists or promote wildlife conservation. WESCA facilitates scientific collaboration among WESCA members, collaborators and other partners.

WESCA has a broad range of members and collaborators, including:
– Specialists who work in the field of wildlife health.
– Specialists and activists who work in the field of wildlife conservation
– Scientists who are interested in wildlife diseases and pathogens
– Veterinarians who work on wildlife pathology and diagnosis of wildlife diseases
– Researchers who are interested in zoonotic pathogens transmitted by wildlife
WESCA members and collaborators actively collaborate with WESCA and other members and collaborators. WESCA membership is free and upon sending your request to WESCA management board.
